Sam is a general Ecologist and Wildlife Management specialist who primarily operates as a Mammal, Avifaunal and Botanical specialist in many African countries for the mining, conservation, Oil and Gas and general EIA industry. He has also conducted many wildlife management studies including TOPS (Trade in Protected Species) permits and reserve assessments. Sam specialises in working in IFC Performance Standard 6 Critical Biodiversity regions throughout Africa. As a broad base, Sam has accumulated degrees in Marine Biology, Conservation Biology as well as Wildlife Management. Sam lectured game ranging at Damelin for 4 years and was the lead technician at the Centre for Wildlife Management, University of Pretoria. In 2009, Sam founded Enviro-Insight with Luke Verburgt where he operates as a Co-Director and Specialist Zoologist and Ecologist. Sam is a co-director of two registered Non-Profit Organisation named the Wild Lion Trust, an organisation based in Tembe National Park (Kwa Zulu Natal) devoted to the conservation of lions and carnivores throughout Africa and the Conservation Risk Initiative, an NPO specialising in environmental security, community upliftment and conservation projects. Sam has co-authored a number of papers including publications on lion feeding behaviour in the Kruger National Park as well as a distributional expansion paper for Pyxicephalus adspersus. He was a contributor to the 2016 updated Red-List evaluation for mammals in South Africa and through Enviro-Insight, he is an active member of the North-West leopard project under the auspices of the North-West Provincial Government (via Mr John Power). Sam’s experience covers work on projects throughout Africa (South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola and Liberia) and has successfully worked with/for numerous local and African and international companies. His experience is very broad and covers general ecological assessments, biodiversity assessments, linear avifauna assessments, linear biodiversity assessments as well as fauna and flora monitoring projects, evaluation of rehabilitation programs, preparation of management plans, health and safety training for dangerous fauna and project management. Sam is a member of the expert panel for the Animal Demography Unit (University of Cape Town) Virtual Museum for mammals and a member of the International Association of Impact Assessment. Finally, Sam is an active and operational member of a number of counter poaching ranger teams in various reserves around the greater Kruger National Park and the Kalahari region and has more than 6 years operational counter poaching experience. He is PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) (A-E and Asset in Transit) qualified. Sam possesses all relevant personal and business firearm qualifications for SLR, Rifle, Shotgun and Handguns and has extensive tactical knowledge within the anti-poaching and security industries. Sam has been awarded the status of Professional Scientist (SACNASP) for both Ecological Science and Zoological Science.

Jason studied at the University of Pretoria from 1996 to 2006, studying Zoology, Botany and Ecology, and obtained an MSc in Wildlife Management. His thesis entitled, “An Evaluation of the Phragmites australis Reed Utilisation by Communities Neighbouring the Tembe Elephant Park, Maputaland, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa” comprised four main chapters, two of which were published in peer-reviewed international scientific journals. He has also published two other articles directly emanating from his thesis. The abstract was translated into isiZulu in a collaboration with the University of the Witwatersrand. In 2003 Jason co-founded AWE Telemetry Systems PTY Ltd and ten years of working after-hours lead to the conceptualisation and design of various telemetry devices used in Wildlife Tracking. AWE Telemetry Systems designed and developed all the products that are sold to conservation end users and customers today, from the Printed Circuit Boards to the User Platform. From a company that started with bespoke Wildlife Tracking equipment, AWE has evolved into one that also services the Fleet Management, Water Monitoring and Aviation industries. AWE Telemetry Systems is also a proud supplier of the SANParks K9 Anti-poaching Dog Harnesses, a first of its kind, that has over the last two years proven to be a more than useful management tool in the fight against poaching and has also saved the lives of both dog and handler. After completing his tertiary education, Jason went into teaching and spent two years lecturing Geography and Game Ranging at Damelin, and two years at Centurion Academy in Plant Studies and Game Management. In 2011 an opportunity arose as an Assistant Plant Manager at a coal beneficiation company that produced high-quality reductant for the ferro-metals industry. In 2013 he took on the position as Director of AWE Telemetry Systems on a full-time basis. Jason is registered as a Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat.) in Ecology and has been a member of the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) since 2009. Jason is also a director of a Non Profit Company, Community & Conservation Investment Alliance (CCIA), an NPC specialising in environmental security, community upliftment and conservation projects throughout Africa.

Jacques studied at the University of Pretoria from 1996 - 1998 where he obtained his B Comm Accounting Sciences degree. He then completed his Honours and CTA at the University of South Africa before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2004. Jacques completing his training contract as and article clerk at KPMG Pretoria in 2002. He was then employed as an auditing lecturer at UNISA for 2 years. He then left the University and started an accounting practice in Pretoria East, which he still manages today. Jacques services mainly owner managed businesses and provides a full range of accounting, tax and consulting services. Finally, Jacques consultancy has had extensive experience in the conservation and NPO space, which provides vital quality assurances for the Chief Financial Officer role within the CCIA.
